By now if you are a racing fan you know about the suspension of AJ Allmendiger for failing a drug test after the race in Kentucky last week.
While I hope the test results are wrong and AJ is cleared I am curious as to why people feel the need to know what drug it is right away! I trust NASCAR enough to make a judgement on this until their lawyers or AJ’s team comes back with the information.
I just read a report that demanded NASCAR should reveal the substance to the public. Why? What good would it do to anyone. Are we really locked into the social media age of knowing everything right away that we can’t wait a few days to find out. I think the doctor that read the findings and passed it on to NASCAR that is good enough for me.
It is a very sensitive issue we are dealing with and no one “owes” us any explanation until all the facts are in. I was one of the first people to say Jeremy Mayfield wouldn’t do drugs and was backing him 100%. Of course NASCAR knew the whole truth and that came out eventually.
Let’s give AJ the benefit of the doubt. Our country is based on Innocent until proven guilty! We will find out what the drug is when NASCAR or AJ’s lawyers want to say what it is.
I won’t lose an ounce of sleep because I didn’t know what the drug is! We will find out in all due time. Until then it isn’t your business to know.

It’s important to know the type of drug.
Was it a designer drug? Was it heroin (indicative of an even bigger issue)? Was it a simply an Over the Counter drug misused?
The kind of drug it was shown to be can say a lot about AJ.

Allyson what I was saying is it our business to try and find out! Why are we in such a hurry, it will all play out in the end. I like you is hoping it is something in a cough medicine and that is the way I will perceive AJ until we find out more.
