Sometimes the best truck does win the race and today is proof that it does actually happen. Kevin Harvick’s car totally dominated this race. He lead 187 laps of the race and made this race look easy. This was Kevin’s 8th victory in 103 NASCAR Camping World truck series starts. Ron Hornaday was second and Brian Ickler was third. There was 11 cautions for 66 laps but even when the field tighten up Kevin was great on the restarts also.
There was a lot of bumping and grinding with many of the other trucks and some tempers flared on pit road after between Ron Hornaday and Johnny Sauter but NASCAR officials were there to step between them and just words were exchanged.
There was only 5 lead changes and 4 leaders, Kevin Havrick led 187 laps, Timothy Peters led 39 laps Mike Skinner led for 15 laps and Ron Hornaday led for 9 laps. There was one bad crash on lap 114 between the #76 driven by Brian Lafferty and the #95 driven by Lance Fenton. Both were treated and released.
