Well this is day two of our trip to Martinsville Speedway and we made sure we got there earlier. It was a little chilly as we left as the temperature dropped down during the night. We had to wait for our windshield to defrost before we could get on the road. We knew in a matter of time it would warm up.
We got to the track in time for our photo meeting and then it was off to the infield media center and the garage. Of course the first garage we were near was Tony Stewart would was really nice to us as was Juan Pablo Montoya. We walked up and down the garage area and must have taken 2000 pictures. We met some great race fans along the way that were trying to take pictures themselves of their favorite drivers. Most were by Dale Jr and Jimmie Johnson’s garage stall.
The cars went out for final practice and they were in and out of the garage for changes. Jeff Burton, Mark Martin and Dale jr looked fast. Just as final practice was coming to an end the #7 Robbie Gordon car blew his engine. The were busy changing it a few minutes later but he would be done for the day. I am sure they will be starting in the back of the field for tomorrows race.
Now its time for the truck race, Kevin Harvick is on the pole due to qualifying being rained out. As I am writing this we are on lap 107 and it has been the Kevin Harvick show as he has lead for at least 80 of those laps. We just had a caution and a tire flew in the air and landed on another truck.
