Richmond race fence sitter gets jail time, fine for his actions
His 15 minutes of fame are over, and now James Dennis is headed for 15 days in jail.
Dennis, the man who scaled a fence at Richmond International Raceway during September’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race, will spend at least two weeks behind bars, according to the Richmond (Va.) NASCAR sets 13 open tests for teams, changes lug nut rule
NASCAR, which banned all team testing after the 2014 season, will give organizations 12 one-day open tests the day after Goodyear tire tests in 2015 and open one race weekend a day early so Sprint Cup teams can test. The new testing plan was revealed in NASCAR’s 2015 rule book, which teams and industry personnel can now read on a secure website. Tire test verdict: little change in 2015, but watch out for 2016 adjustments
Four Sprint Cup teams got a chance to see how the new 2015 aerodynamic package feels in a test this week at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards, Sam Hornish Jr., and Paul Menard spent two days testing tires for Goodyear on the 1.5-mile track.
