In a move that surprises a lot of race fans Stewart-Haas racing signed 2004 NASCAR champion Kurt Busch to race for the team in 2014. This will give Stewart-Haas a 4th entry for the 2014 season.
Fans are confused by this move because only a few weeks ago they announced they were letting Ryan Newman go after his contract is up after this year. The team has already signed Past Champion Kevin Harvick to drive the car that is being vacated by Newman.
This move will give Stewart-Haas racing 3 past champions on their roster with Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, and Kurt Busch. The 4th driver is Danica Patrick and the Godaddy.com #10 car.
Kurt Busch is having a great comeback and is currently 9th in points with the #78 Furniture Row racing car. That car may be taken next year by Ryan Newman or Juan Pablo Montoya who are both looking for a ride in 2014. With only a few weeks until the race for the chase drivers are selected it seems that silly season is among us early this year.
There is a press conference scheduled for 2pm today EST so any updates will be added to this as they come in.

I am disgusted. My love & respect for Tony just went way south. This speaks volumes and I’m not talking business/dollars either. A slap to the Furniture Row Team from KuBu too. Bleh.
