Well hello Nascar fans. Sorry about the delay its the last week of school and I have been overwhelmed with work to end this semester on a winning note. Now that I have that firmly in hand, I humbly return to you, the Nascar family of friends.
I would just like to say right off that I would like to give a big congratulations to my man Mark Martin. Way to go Mark!!! It has been 97 long, long races since Mark won a race. Far to long for a racer of his caliber. Congratulations to Mark and Hendricks Motorsports.
Well it seems that Paul Menard will be sporting a new sponsor on his car for this his sixth start at Talladega. In his career starts at Talladega his best finish was last October where he started fifth off the line for the start of the race and ended up finishing second. Not to bad at all. Anyway though the new sponsor is going to be Turtle Wax in combination with Menards. So the #98 car will be sporting a new look this weekend at Dega. I will keep my eye on that Turtle Wax car, they might be pretty slick, haha.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the opening of Talladega Super Speedway in 1969. There are many highlights in the career of the fastest track on the Sprint Cup circuit. Some highlights include Dale Jr. breaking a track record of four consecutive wins passing the record held by Buddy Baker in 2003 and last October a Sprint Cup Series record was set when there were some 28 different leaders throughout the race. Congratulations Talladega Super Speedway on 40 great years of racing and trading paint. Here’s to the next 40 years.
Well this one is gonna be short and sweet. I’ll be back tonight for a final preview of and details on Talladega Super Speedway. I am taking my newly renovated van and heading to Talladega tomorrow night for the weekend festivities. I wont be back til sometime Monday but I will have a full report and if I can figure out how to upload them, a bunch of pictures too. Well its time for work so I will be back later with the Talladega report. Stay tuned Nascar fans.
