I didn’t watch any of the Indy or the F1 at all, after the NASCAR race I was done with racing for the day.

With an odd beginning, seeing about a quarter of the field experiencing either on track contact or overheating thanks to the aftermath, a not too long green flag stint allowing for green flag stops, and watching history be made, this was an awesome event… poor attendance or not.

The excitment and build up of Juan Montoya’s revenge on the yard of bricks was given an interesting dramatic twist after the late race caution that set up his teammate to claim the victory for Mr. Floyd “Chip” Ganassi, who in addtion to making history with the Daytona/Indy/Indy trifecta also claimed victory with Scott Dixon in the IndyCar Series at Edmonton. One could say that Helio Castroneves got screwed, with Dixon and Ganassi being given the gift of the win, but who is spliting hairs?

On top of all of that, F1 team Ferrari won the German Gran Prix in race that once again saw the use of team orders. All and all, this has to have been the most dramatic race weekend of the summer.

All this discussion about water bottles & caution flags,its even been said that Nascar is throwing them or maybe even the drivers,someone suggested they need to have each driver write their car # on their bottle of water so when one gets thrown out it will be traced back to that driver,& I also say they need to analyze the film & see which car or wherever it comes from,they might see it come from Jimmie Johnsons car,one of his fans, or maybe even nascar so it could be a set up since the water bottle caused the caution to happen RIGHT BEFORE Jimmie Johnson would have went a lap down…How convenient.

That’s unfortunate. The unapproved parts didn’t provide enough of an advantage to make it worth the risk. I am sure this was an error by a team member and not an attempt to skirt the Nascar rule book, at least I hope so. It would be such a shame to have that win tainted by cheating.
